AHI was originally designed to be slung under a Bell JetRanger in an
aeroshell. In this configuration AHI was flight tested in Hawaii and
deployed for HMD applications at Ft. Huachuca AZ. Huey helicopters can
accommodate the AHI instrument in the interior of the aircraft.
