My grandson recently attended your science class and I wanted to tell you how
much it meant to him and to thank you for your very generous and professional
efforts in the career of a young aspiring science student. He is a very
bright, very intelligent and quick young lad who really enjoys space and
science and he just loved the course. The very important work which you are
doing in Hawaii for young, enthusiastic science students is extremely vital to
the future of this country's space program and indeed to its place in

I just wanted to thank you for the excellent experience my children and I had
at the Future Flight Hawaii program. The kids came home every night talking

Once again, Future Flight was a totally awesome experience. It is the most

I wanted to tell you that my son and I had a blast this past weekend. Future
Flight Hawaii turned out to be more than we had expected. He is still on a
high this week, talking and laughing with much excitement as he relives the
fun he had. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it myself. I wish I had had
such great science teachers when I was in school; I may have gone into some

I really enjoyed this year at Future Flight. I enjoyed the searching for
life module and can't wait for my sea monkeys to hatch. I especially liked
the pipette rockets. I also enjoyed using the capsela rover. Thank you

I especially enjoyed building and programming robots to do certain tasks. I

hi art and rene. i hope you've been fine. i can't believe how fast the
years have gone by. future flight hawaii was always such a big part of my
summer. if you're wondering why i'm writing to you it's because i was
doing research on the internet for my job and i came across your site. it
brought back many memories.
i will be going to the university of southern california to study earth
science. i'm considering double majoring with engineering also.
i hope both of you have been well. and i plan to keep in tough through
out my college experience. who knows maybe i'll need some of your great
knowledge to pass my classes. but the main thing is that i wanted to say
was thank you for providing me with the experience of a lifetime.
attending future flight hawaii was what helped me choose my career path.
also i wanted to let you know i used it as the main focus for my
personal essays when scholarships or colleges asked what was the
most influential part of your life, how did you decide what field you
wanted to go into, etc. and i'm proud to say it's helped me win many
scholarships. so i just wanted to let you know how big of an impact your
program has made on my life. And if you ever need help with your programs

I wanted to share some information with you regarding Future Flight that
you conducted for several years on the Big Island with other science
teachers. My daughter and son attended during those summers and they
remember those sessions as inspiring them to have a positive outlook at
science and math (unlike their mother). She is a student in the UH Manoa
engineering program and will attest to her interest as being tweaked while
at Future Flight as an elementary student. When briefed about the meeting
at UH Hilo regarding engineering, she shared with me this information. Her
interest in the engineering program started in Future Flight and was
heightened even more when as a KCC student she accompanied a Niu Valley
group of 8th graders to UH Manoa's engineeering program on a field trip.
She was the Skills Trainer for an autistic student and at the time aspired
to the medical field. Her visit changed her mind to look into and finally
be accepted into the engineering program. She is a typical minority
female who would not have aspired to this field had it not been for those
experiences. Just thought you could use the info we certainly appreciate
the help you have provided she and other kids. parent

Hi Art and Rene, I can honestly say, I have never in any other program
through out my twenty years of teaching, felt such positive energy from
the people involved in the Future Flight program. It gives me chicken
skin in observing the students enlightenment upon completion of their
lessons. I can only imagine the time you must put in to select each of
the activities utilized at Future Flight. Thank you for all that Rene and
yourself do, you are touching and shaping the lives of so many youngsters

Thank-you so much for all your hard work in bringing your summer program
to Maui .... As you can tell from the pictures, my son had a great
time..... he and his friends were still talking about it for days after

It was fun and exciting to be part of FF '06. If I counted
correctly, it was my 11th year. I'd like to see the day that I can bring
my future grandchild to FF too.

I know FF helped to my daughter into the career she enjoys ---
working in a lab. After practicing so many simulated FF lab
activities, being a medical technologist in the hematology lab, was
the next step into the real world of labs. Teacher

Wanted to thank you and your staff so much for a wonderful family
exploration program. We appreciate all of the training materials -
always a new adventure to learn more! Last, but not least, Dale and Roger
outdid themselves this year with their demo. You are right, they need to
be on Letterman one day! Thanks again and we look forward to our 1st
grader to be able to attend in a few years!

Just a note to say thanks so much for putting on the Future Flt program
again. As usual, you did a fantastic job and all the kids loved it. On
Sunday afternoon she didn't want to leave and wanted to go to more
sessions. We'll look for the sign up for her for next year.
