TRY having students
present their final report, describe the investigation, and receive
feedback from classmates.
Prompt each group, one at time, to present their final report
being sure to address the overall problem:
- Which activities (if
any) around the coral reefs of Kailua Bay should be restricted to
insure their lasting protection?
- What was your role?
- How did you go about
investigating this question (what steps did you take)?
- How did your role impact
your conclusion and recommendation?
- What did you learn during
the process?
Teacher Note
When each group presents
their reports, you may want to use a court-like atmosphere where each
group of kids presents their findings in the context of their assigned
role. Each group (role), would be given a certain amount of time to
present their interpretations to the class, and after their presentation
there would be some time allocated for the other groups (roles) to
rebut.
Review each project
and solicit feedback from the class.
Summarize the lesson
by making A final conclusion
to be submitted to Congress (Optional activity).
