The Materials Science Laboratory supports research in high pressure mineral physics and materials science using a variety of techniques.

Our mission is to study the behavior of minerals and functional materials under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. Specifically, we aim to (a) synthesize and characterize new materials using high-pressure and high-temperature facilities and (b) promote and facilitate interdisciplinary research of nano science and technology in Hawai'i.
