1) QuickTime VR only runs on Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. For best results and least aggrivation, obtain the version 3.0 or later of either browser. QuickTime VR will NOT run on Netscape Communicator.

2) Download the file "mac_qteasy.hqx".

3) Once this file is on your computer, it must be uncompressed. If you are using Netscape Navigator, uncompression usually occurs automatically immediately after downloading. The uncompressed version of this file is called "QuickTime Easy Install".

If you have "mac_qteasy.hqx" but can not find "QuickTime Easy Install", or if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer you must download a program called "Stuffit Expander", which should be available for free from popular web sites like www.download.com or www.shareware.com. "Expand" mac_qteasy.hqx using the like command in Stuffit Expander's "File" menu. You should then end up with a file called "QuickTime Easy Install".

4) Double-click the uncompressed "QuickTime Easy Install" file. In this file there will be four items; QuickTime 2.5 Net Install, QuickTime Plugin, Browser-Known Problems, Read Me-v1.1.

5) On your computer, find the folder which contains your web brower, either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Within this folder there is a folder called "Plug-ins". Open this folder. From the "QuickTime Easy Install" folder that you just downloaded and uncompressed, drag the "QuickTime Plugin" file out and drop it into your browser's "Plug-ins" folder.

6) In the "QuickTime Easy Install" folder, there is another folder called "QuickTime 2.5 Net Install". Open this folder. Within this folder there will be two folders; QuickTime Install Disk 1, and QuickTime Install Disk 2. Open the "QuickTime Install Disk 1" folder. Within this folder there will be five items. Find the item called "Installer" and double ckick it. The Installer will automatically install additional components onto your computer. Just follow the prompts, clikcing on "Ok" or "Install" etc. as they arise.

7) Restart your computer. Once your computer restarts you will be all set to view QTVR in your web browser. Once you are sure that QTVR is playing properly in your browser, you can Trash the "mac_qteasy.hqx" and the "QuickTime Easy Install" folders and files. You do not need these once QuickTime is successfully installed.
