GG 460, Geological Remote Sensing. Course website. Offered Spring semesters to upper level undergraduate and graduate students as well as in-service teachers and workers in the community. The course covers the basics of image generation, collection, and processing, the principles of reflected and emitted energy, synthetic aperture radar, and applications of all these to solving geological problems. The course builds on GG 460 and adds the concepts of high-precision GPS for the collection of field data and collating both the field-derived and image-based data into a Geographical Information System (GIS). - U.
