Masaya volcano, Nicaragua, is the main volcano that the NASA IDS Team is studying outside the United States. Because of the ease of access to the volcano, and the persistent degassing of the active vents, we can plan numerous field experiments that compliment our satellite observations.

We are studying the degassing of Masaya in a number of ways to serve as a direct comparison to Kilauea. Here we show some of our gas, modeling and vegetation studies. You can see more of our volcanology work at Masaya by following this link.
