Poas volcano, Costa Rica, is the third main volcano that the NASA IDS Volcanology Team is studying. While our efforts here mirror those at Kilauea and Masaya volcanoes, the local topography, vegetation, and characteristics of the volcano make Poas an interesting compasrison.

We are studying the degassing of Poas in a number of ways to serve as a further comparison to Kilauea. Click here to see some of our gas and vegetation studies.
