The National Center for Island, Maritime, and Extreme Environment Security (CIMES) is a major initiative at the University of Hawaii, and includes collaborations with the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. While holding two administrative positions at the University of Hawaii, much of my time is devoted to topics other than my research. However, I still have a strong interest is the geology of Mars. Specifically, I continue to have a strong interest in the analysis of impact craters and volcanoes on Mars, even though I do not have any funding for these projects at this time. Unfortunately, this means that I am not looking for any new graduate students to work on projects right now. The main project that I have right now is the geologic analysis of an impact crater called Tooting:
