This PDF file illustrates the decisions that a student using the Remote Sensing portion of KaAMS will use in trying to decide whether or not there are active lava flows in a remote-sensing image. The images that we will use for now were collected by the Airborne AVIRIS system. Two of the images are reproduced below:

This is a 3-band composite chosen to reproduce the color image closest to what human eyes would see. It has been annotated so that Tiffany and Ting Ling will be able to locate the features mentioned in some of the content that was provided to them.

This is a mid-IR image of the same scene. Again it has been annotated so that the features mentioned in content sections can be located.
