stripes HIGP Seminar Speaker Sign Up

Thank you for signing up to give an HIGP Seminar talk!   Please follow these steps to ensure a full and excited audience.

STEP 1:   Check HIGP Data Center calendar for availability (login needed) and contact Chris Peterson (chrisp@higp.hawaii.edu) to schedule a time. Seminars are generally on Wednesdays at 2pm in POST 544, but different times and days can be accommodated.

STEP 2:   Contact Linda Martel (linda@higp.hawaii.edu) to be added to the HIGP Seminar Schedule.

STEP 3:   Please make an announcement flier. At least two work days in advance, post one flier on each elevator board (3 total) using this template: HIGP-Seminar-Flier-Template.docx

STEP 4:   Email the seminar listserv (higpseminar@higp.hawaii.edu) at least two work days in advance and send one the morning of the seminar. If you would like to be added or taken off the list please contact Ethan Kastner (ethan@higp.hawaii.edu).

A few details about the seminar:
  • Seminars are one hour timeslots, with 15–45 minutes given to the speaker(s), allowing at least 15 minutes for questions.

  • It's a good idea to arrive in POST 544 about 15 minutes early to set up.

  • A memory stick with your talk is preferred, but if you plan to use your own computer, please come prepared with the necessary adapters. Contact Ethan Kastner (ethan@higp.hawaii.edu) for more information about set-up in advance or on the day of the talk.

  • If you would like to be introduced, then please prepare a short biography for your host to read. Otherwise, the speaker runs the seminar.
