Research Interests:
Material science, Remote sensing, Remote Raman, micro Raman, High Tc-Superconductor, Stress Strain sensors, 1/f noise

Projects:
I am actively developing compact remote spectroscopy systems for detecting minerals and chemicals in daylight for terrestrial applications and applications suitable for NASA's planetary landers and rovers. Current active projects involve development of remote sensing instruments capable of performing remote Raman, LIBS and fluorescence spectroscopies from standoff distances of several meters. In addition, we have also developed a new instrument called “Standoff Biofinder” which can detect the presence of biological materials in a large area with fast detection time. These projects have been funded by ONR and NASA.

I have a wide range of experience in various fields of physics and material science including high Tc superconductors, thin film technology, thin film sensors, hydrogen technology, electrochemistry, corrosion science, single crystal growth, high vacuum systems, x-ray diffraction, electronic noise, low temperature physics, etc.
